The Genesee Belle was launched in May of 1995. She was built by Skipper Liner Industries of LaCrosse, Wisconsin in 1994. The Belle was towed across Lake Michigan the following April and then traveled by road to Crossroads Village.
The Belle is a true riverboat rated at 55 tons/50000 kgs. She is 85 feet/26 meters long and has a 20 foot/6 meter beam. Like all riverboats, the Belle has a very shallow draft - 2 1/2 feet/76 cm. Propulsion is provided by a rear-mounted paddlewheel. Normal cruising speed is 5-6 knots.
During Village hours the Belle operates from her dock at the Village park. Evening cruises depart from the colorfully lighted Stepping Stone Falls. Mott Lake is home to Canada geese, ducks, herons and other waterfowl. Deer and raccoons are sometimes glimpsed in the evening.
Lunch cruises and Dinner cruises are also available. The Dinner cruises offer a variety of entertainment and menus. Magic, music, and comedy are all part of the experience. Guys, surprise your wife with dinner on the Genesee Belle and you'll be rewarded for days, maybe even weeks. Call 1.800.648.7275 for hours, entertainment schedule, menus, and availability.
